Tv documentary by Margarete Kreuzer about the sub-culture of West-Berlin in the 1980s. The unique political and geographical status of West-Berlin in the cold war lead to a unique scene of artists reflecting the Zeitgeist and creating profound work that is now a part of history. A lot of historical footage is used and interesting anecdotes are shared. For example the story of creating the famous Die Dominas project involving Kraftwerk.

After the death of a mutual friend, six people try to escape their bleak lives in the German-Belgian-Luxembourg border region. When one of them hijacks a bus, more or less by chance, they embark on a journey that takes them further and further away from the dreams and illusions of their everyday lives.

Oscar Wilde is a married playwright who has occasionally indulged his weakness for male suitors. After much toil, Wilde debuts 'The Importance of Being Earnest' in London, and a chat at the theatre with Lord Alfred 'Bosie' Douglas leads to a full-fledged romance. However, this affair leads to a legal dispute with Lord Alfred's oppressive father, the Marquess of Queensberry, and, given the local anti-gay laws, Wilde is jailed. Wilde's vast intellect helps him survive until he regains his freedom.

Salford, North of England, 1976. The now much diminished, but still dysfunctional, Khan family continues to struggle for survival. Sajid, the youngest Khan is deep in pubescent crisis under heavy assault both from his father's tyrannical insistence on Pakistani tradition, and from the fierce bullies in the schoolyard. So, in a last, desperate attempt to 'sort him out', his father decides to pack him off to Mrs Khan No 1 and family in the Punjab, the wife and daughters he had abandoned 35 years earlier.
